Verzênay: A Sweet Escape to Parisian Delights in Lincoln Park, Chicago

Nestled in the heart of Lincoln Park, Chicago, Verzênay is not just a French patisserie; it’s a delectable journey curated by the passion and culinary finesse of Pâtissiere Arshiya. Having spent over a year in the culinary capital of the world – Paris – Arshiya brings the most authentic and flavorful French delicacies to the Windy City, straight from her heart to your plate.

It’s mission:

“At Verzênay, we are all about sharing our devotion to make nourishing and delicious Chef crafted savory and sweet baked goods and desserts, with no artificial anything. Our mission is to provide consumers with products that are:
• Best in taste & quality – “Trained in France, Made in Chicago”, crafted by Chef and Owner, Arshiya Farheen and her team
• Filled with locally sourced, where available and clean ingredients, and
• Supports economic development for women”

There were so many awesome sweets, savory and coffee items to choose from. My suggestions are

  • Mushroom & Gruyere Cheese Melt – “pastrami-spiced sautéed mushrooms, gruyere cheese, caramelized onions, garlic aioli, on country sourdough bread.”
  • Mont Blanc – “A Mont Blanc is a dessert of sweetened chestnut purée on the outside, with a thick layer of whipped cream, on a crispy tart shell that’s filled with cherry almond cake filling. The name comes from Mont Blanc mountain in France, and the dish resembles a snow-capped mountain.”
  • Any of the Macarons especillay the Chicago inspired by the famous caramel and cheese popcorn.
  • Traditional Macchiato

I can’t wait to go back. It’s also the perfect spot to get some work done.
